The Bodo people are an indigenous ethnic group primarily from Assam, India. They have a rich culture and are known for their traditional weaving and distinct attire.
👗 Fasra/Farsa (for Women):
Fasra (sometimes written farsa or dokhona fasra) is a traditional wrap-around cloth worn by Bodo women.
It’s handwoven, often using a backstrap loom.
Typically made from cotton or silk, and features bright colors and geometric or symbolic motifs.
The fasra is wrapped from the chest to the knees or ankles, somewhat like a sari but without pleats or a blouse.
Often worn with a matching upper garment called Risha or Jwmgra (scarf/stole).
