Padmini Chador Mekhela

The *Chador Mekhela* is a traditional Assamese attire, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of Assam. It consists of two main pieces:

1. *Mekhela*: This is a cylindrical garment worn around the waist, similar to a skirt or sari. It is usually pleated and tied in place with a drawstring or fabric belt. The mekhela is often richly decorated with intricate designs and motifs, reflecting the artisanal skills of Assamese weavers.

2. *Chador*: This is a matching piece of cloth draped over the shoulders and around the body, akin to a dupatta or shawl. It complements the mekhela and can be styled in various ways, often featuring elaborate borders or embroidery.
